An Introduction…

Hello World,

Welcome to my first blog post. I will begin by briefly introducing myself and telling you about my main goal in creating this blog.

I come from an Eastern European background, raised by both parents, and I have an older sister. I would say I am European at heart, but raised and grown in Canada. I am a mother to an amazing, intelligent, funny, charismatic, compassionate, talented and inquisitive boy. I am a successful individual with a career in the education field, and I would say I am extremely creative and passionate when it comes to my work. Some of my interests include cooking (check out my food blog- https://cookingwithdesi.weebly.com), exercising, reading books, dancing, learning new things, challenging myself, and spending time with my family and friends.

The main reason I decided to start this blog was because life wasn’t (and still isn’t) always perfect and I wanted to create a platform for women to join me in building a real and safe community. A very private but special topic I will focus on is dealing with abuse. I want my blog to inspire all women, in particularly abused women. I want to provide a space for abused women to come together and know that they aren’t alone. My main goal is to encourage abused women to seek help, so that one day they too can have the life God intended them to have. I truly believe our hardships are meant to make us stronger, wiser, more understanding, and compassionate. I hope you will enjoy my blogs and in the process, if I can help one person going through a difficult time, my heart will be full. So join me on my new journey, my final healing space, where I hope to inspire you to heal as well!

Love,

Desi

  1. Thank you for providing a safe space for those who have been abused. I don’t know many people who share their struggles with abuse, as it is an admittedly difficult topic to talk about it. It’s why I raise awareness of my own childhood abuse, to help others who have been through the same. I am looking forward to reading your posts, and joining you on your journey to healing. Talking about our stories is so cathartic, and I hope that you find that writing helps ease some of your pain. I know that my blog has given me the solace that I crave. Trauma is never fully gone, but if you can get it to a manageable level, you can live your life to the fullest. Sending love and happiness.

    • Thank you so much for your words Ana, you are absolutely right! Healing is the goal and talking about it is so necessary. I hope to inspire women and men who have gone through similar experiences rise up and find themselves again. Self love is so important! Thank you for your support 🙂

  2. Good luck to you. I am glad to see you at blog and inspire on Facebook, the topic is a tough one. Those in it, are too scared to voice it, or they will have to face what they have been hiding; sometimes for years. Those out of it, want to forget or don’t want to admit they were ever that person, weak and vulnerable. Some hid it so hard that their children and friends never knew. Talking now, may set them back once more, … by risking not being believed.
